School Nurse

Hello my name is Lacey Pigeon. I am a graduate of Lumberton High School. I am married to Matthew Pigeon. We have one child, and his name is Hunter. I graduated from Pearl River Community College with my Associate Degree in Nursing in December 2012. I really enjoy working with the children at Lumberton School District. Health and Education go hand in hand. For a student to be healthy, they must be educated. For a student to be educated, they must be healthy. It is my goal to help the students of Lumberton School District be as healthy as possible so that students are in school and learning.

At Lumberton School we want to empower our youth to make healthy lifestyle decisions. One way we can accomplish this is to offer age-appropriate tobacco prevention programs developed and implemented by The Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi.

R.A.T. (Reject All Tobacco) includes Kindergarten – Sixth grade
Generation F.R.E.E. includes Seventh – Twelth grades

The teams are registered at the beginning of the school year. The school nurse or a teacher conducts the monthly activities that are fun and educational. If you would like more information about the Partnership for a Healthy MS please visit their website @ < a href="" target="_blank">

A health clinic is maintained by the nurse to administer first aid, treat sudden illness, and to give doctor prescribed medications to students during school hours. The nurse also serves as a resource for students, faculty, and family members regarding health information.
