Guidance and Counseling is an important service to the community of Lumberton schools. The philosophy of our developmental guidance program is based on the belief that every student is a unique individual with specific talents and needs. Each of these areas of student development encompass a variety of desired student learning competencies, which in turn are comprised of specific knowledge, attitudes and skills. Classroom and individual counseling sessions on select Guidance and Counseling topics are available for each grade level. The curriculum includes supplementing the development of elementary and middle school grade levels, including parent and staff education on guidance issues.
Support Services includes counseling and guidance presentations and activities to meet the need of the students, parent and staff. Individual or group counseling ranges from academic to crisis counseling. Lumberton schools also provide some mental health services for additional needs.
